Five Muslim Nations and OIC Warn Israel Against Seizing Gaza City

Israel’s Security Cabinet has recently approved a plan to seize Gaza City, the most densely populated area in the northern Gaza Strip. The decision has triggered swift and strong international condemnation, particularly from Muslim-majority nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Israel defends the move as necessary to “eliminate the Hamas threat” and to prevent future attacks on its territory. However, critics say it constitutes a serious breach of international law and poses a grave risk to civilians.

Five Muslim nations — Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Qatar, Kuwait — along with the OIC have strongly condemned the plan:

Saudi Arabia called it “a blatant violation of international law” and “a humanitarian assault on the Palestinian people.”

Pakistan said the decision undermines peace efforts and violates UN resolutions.

Qatar warned Israel against steps that would escalate violence and displacement.

Kuwait urged the international community to halt the takeover immediately.

OIC described it as “a direct attack on the Palestinian people” and an obstacle to a two-state solution.

The United Nations has warned that the takeover could result in the displacement of hundreds of thousands or even millions, along with significant civilian casualties. Aid agencies have called for the protection of non-combatants.

Meanwhile, Hamas has vowed to fiercely resist, declaring that Gaza City will never fall into Israeli hands without intense fighting.

Regional analysts believe the move will further damage Israel’s relations with Muslim countries and drastically reduce the chances of achieving a two-state solution. Tensions in the Middle East are expected to escalate unless a political resolution is reached.
